BMW in which Tupac was shot goes under the hammer
It was back in 1996, that legendary rapper Tupac Shakur was shot whilst being driven on the Las Vegas strip. Now the ill-fated BMW in which he made his final journey is up for sale and is expected to fetch a whopping £1.3 million.
The rapper, who was 25 at the time of his death, was a passenger in the BMW 750IL when it was strafed with bullets by a gunman. He was taken to hospital but died six days later. The killer has never been found.
The BMW, which has been described as an “extraordinary relic” by auction site Moments in Time, has been fully repaired – the bullet holes now gone. It’s unclear exactly who has owned the vehicle over the past twenty years – it’s changed hands several times – but 100,000 miles have been clocked up over the past two decades.
Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight was driving the BMW when it was ambushed. He survived the attack.
