BMW 6 Series Convertible Review

The BMW 6 Series is a car that is on the higher end of the scale within the typical line up of BMW’s.

Offering elegance and performance is what the car attempts to deliver.

We evaluate the latest convertible to be released from the range and highlight our favourite attributes of the vehicle.

Performance and Handling

You’ll get a choice of the 630i, 635d and the 650i. At the very top end is the M6 V10, which can produce an outstanding 500bhp and race to 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds. The 635d will get you from 0-62mph in a very respectable 6.3 seconds whilst producing 40mpg, striking a great balance between performance and economy.

You don’t quite get the handling of a typical sports car with the BMW 6 Series Convertible but you do get a great and comfortable ride at high speeds. The car can grip the road well and turn quickly considering its size, which makes the car that bit more agile.

BMW don’t let you down when it comes to creating a luxurious interior that feels like a luxury car when sitting within. The layout looks attractive with class written throughout. Materials are of the highest quality (as usual with BMW’s) with neat controls for the driver. They are easily accessible and designed to be very easy to use and not complicated. BMW’s latest iDrive innovation allows the driver to control a host of functions through a single operator.

You’ll get plenty of sophisticated driver technology aids with the 6 Series. These include stability control to aid the balance of the car along with twin and side airbags. In terms of security, there is an alarm and engine immobiliser which come as standard.

The equipment that comes with the BMW 6 Series Convertible helps hit home exactly how luxurious the car is. You’ll have electric seats that are heated too. Climate control is also included along with satellite navigation. Overall you’ll be getting a great deal with the standard equipment that is offered.

We like the car because it isn’t necessarily a high revving sports car but more of a luxury car. That’s not to say that it doesn’t deliver a terrific performance, but the BMW 6 Series Convertible has the feel of elegance throughout.
