Dinan N55 tuning software to upgrade BMW engines
Top class engine
It will upgrade the BMW’s terrific N55 engine, which was considered a masterpiece even by their standards. The intelligently built engine manages to combine direct injection, turbocharging as well as Valvetronic and Cylinder-bank Comprehensive Manifold (CCM) technologies. The engine was so good that it made it’s way into the Ward list of top ten engines last year.
The BMW N55 3.0 L straight six engine was debuted upon the BMW 535i 2010 model. Ever since it has been spread out to models such as the 335i, 135i and SUV’s including the X5 and X6.
Dinan’s solution is considered quite a feat as the engine has proven to be a very difficult one to enhance. Using the upgrade the engine will increase it’s brake horse power by a remarkable 55.The car’s increased torque allows it’s acceleration to be that extra bit quicker. A Black box isn’t required as the software is upgraded via the car’s diagnostic port.
No more top speed
BMW have restricted models to a certain speed following Government restrictions. However the Dinan overrides that, with the BMW X5 and the BMW X6 being the only vehicles to keep their top speed limit of 155 MPH.
The software will cost £1,995 (approximately £1,295). Many enthusiasts who like to modify their engine don’t have the opportunity to do so as much as they would if they owned other vehicles.
If it was to come to the UK, we are that would be plenty of takers. Either way it does sound like a great deal to us.
