The new MINI Paceman
The new MINI Paceman has been described as a Sports Activity Coupe. It is the seventh MINI model to roll out from the production line and will cost from £18,970 to £24,290.
You won’t have to wait for too long if you want one as it goes on sale on March 16th in 2012. It offers a great all round balance of exciting driving, great style, practicality and a decent performance.
Some have said that it looks like a two door version of the MINI Countryman. The BMW owned company are doing their utmost to ensure that both vehicles are completely separated as they are both within different segments. Both vehicles do share similarities however, with them both front and all wheel drive. Again the choice of transmissions is the same with a manual gearbox as standard and a six speed automatic gearbox being made available as an option.
A John Cooper Works MINI Paceman will made available later after it’s initial launch. To begin with, two petrol and diesel engines will be made available. The basic entry level petrol will a 1.6 litre capable of producing 122 BHP. A turbocharged version will be able to produce 184 BHP, named the Cooper S. The entry level diesel will be a 1.6 litre with the ability to produce a maximum of 112 BHP, named the Cooper D. The Cooper SD has a 2.0 litre diesel under it’s bonnet and would be able to produce 143 BHP.
MINI has strived to reach the top of the sales charts in recent years and have done extremely well in proving critics wrong. Nobody had thought that the Clubman, Countryman along with the Roadster and Coupe would prove to be such successful vehicles. Every time the company come out with something, it has always been groundbreaking. Will the MINI Paceman be the same?
No one quite knows what category the car actually fits into. It’s a coupe, 4×4 and a hatchback all in one. By the sounds of it the car will have around 50 rivals. The car’s sloping roofline combined with it’s high stature makes the car look quite dominant and sporty on the road. Surprisingly the car still resembles that of a MINI. How?
It is difficult to say whether the MINI Paceman will do well on the market just yet. Judging by MINI’s recent history, we believe the car will do just fine.
